IT'S BEEN AWHILE...
"Despite all those greats there, and Federer's new record, and the usual ghosts on Centre Court, Roddick stole the moment. He stole the crowd, too, even though he was the one who had dumped their hero, the Great Brit Hope Andy Murray, in the semis. We knew Federer would break the record eventually. What we didn't know until these past two weeks was that Roddick had this in him. Greatness. Humility. Class. Maturity. A backhand. A brain. "

Wimbledon 2009 update...
So ANDY RODDICK will face Former #1 player in the world, Roger Federer(haha. love to call him that...former. ha. :P Anyways, i can't wait until sunday to watch them play. If Federer does beat Andy, he will be #1 again and will take the spot away from Raphael Nadal, who by the way pulled out of the tournament due to a knee injury. :( Hopefully though, Andy Roddick will WIN against Federer and hold out for Federer's 15th grand slam title(whoop..not!). Andy has a 2-18 record against Roger. So i really don't know. But i know he can do it! Today, he played some of the best tennis he's ever played. If he keeps playing like that..he can surely beat Federer.

NOW..TO THE WOMEN'S SEMIFINALS...which BTW was yesterday! i forgot to blog about it so i am blogging about it now. TWO-TIME CHAMP SERENA WILLIAMS defeated ELENA DEMENTIEVA (6-7)(7-5)(8-6), which took 2 hours and 49 minutes- the longest women's semifinals at Wimbledon in at least 40 years. FIVE-TIME CHAMPION VENUS WILLIAMS defeated #1 player DINARA SAFINA (6-1)(6-0) in just 51 minutes. And to think that Safina is #1, that's just not right. And now even though Serena & Venus are in the finals, it doesn't matter who wins because Safina will still be #1. Which SUCKS...Big Ones!! Safina doesn't deserve to be #1! Her coach should drop her! LOL... So Saturday, July 4, the Williams sisters will face each other in the Wimbledon Final once again. Last year Venus beat Serena for the title. My pick to win is Serena! I think she can fight for it and beat her older sister. But No matter how It goes...I'm just glad a Williams is going to WIN!
GO SERENA & VENUS!!

FOR ONE TO RISE, ANOTHER MUST FALL...
About the book-It’s the summer of 1969, and Bliss has been unceremoniously dumped by her hippie parents into the custody of her grandmother. Soon Bliss finds herself adjusting to life as a freshman at a fancy Atlanta school—and it’s a lot different from life on the commune. Although she quickly finds “normal” friends, she is drawn to Sandy, a gruff and unpopular girl with a long-standing grudge against Sarah Lynn, the icy beauty of the freshman class. The push and pull of the school drama is engaging enough, but there’s another element pressurizing the situation: an unsettling voice calling to Bliss from inside one of the school buildings, a voice somehow related to strange blood rituals and a long-ago suicide.
*I had read this book like a couple of weeks ago but i never got around to blog about it. That is until now. Ok...so Bliss goes to school for the first time. She becomes friends with a not-so-popular girl who goes by the name Sandy. Sandy hates the popular girl Sarah Lynn and is always saying bad stuff about her and what not. Bliss accidentally runs into Sarah Lynn in the hall with a guy she's not supposed to be with. Bliss gets to know Sarah Lynn & becomes friends with her. She doesn't know why Sandy hates her so much. Ok so on Bliss's first day of school, she hears a voice calling her, telling her to come toward it. Later on, Bliss learns that a girl named Liliana whose thirst for power drove her to commit sucide on school grounds. And of course Bliss assumes that is the voice that is calling her to go the floor where Liliana killed herself. Now, in the book, after certain chapters, it has diary pages from the journal of S.L.L. Everytime i'd read those parts, i was totally confused and the circuits in my brain were whirling thinking Who the hell is that? It drove me crazy that i didn't know who it was because S.L.L. was trying to bring back Liliana with a sacrifice. Anyways...it turns out it's Bliss's close friend Sandy whose whole name is Sandy Lurlene Lear. Little by little you get to see that Sandy is a little cukoo and Bliss sees that too. So all through this...Bliss also learns that Sandy needs her blood for the sacrifice to work. A bunch of things happen though..at the end...Sarah Lynn dies and instead was the sacrifice. And Then Sandy becomes popular. The end. It totally left me hanging. It left me with so many questions roaming around in my mind. But this book was absolutely interesting and frightening. It was a good READ, without a doubt.
About the book-High school freshman Jane is more than plain -- she’s practically invisible. And she longs for nothing more than to join the ranks of the Bitches, the top female echelon at school. But the Bitches are selective, and only one girl from each class is chosen to rule supreme. So Jane is puzzled but ecstatic when the Bitches name her their freshman successor. Soon she is being worshipped by all kinds of beautiful people who didn’t even know her name last week. But as Jane soon realizes, it isn’t easy being a Bitch. She is informed by her new "sisters" that there are certain sacrifices to be made -- sacrifices that could wreck high school havoc and ruin lives. Is Jane willing to do anything to stay on the top of the popularity heap? Or will she risk it all to save innocent others from the clutching claws of the Bitches?
*Ok. so i read this book two days ago. It's funny because this book has been sitting on my bookshelf for the past oh...month or so. LOL...i've just been super, super lazy is all. Anyways i finally read it. It's funny too because i read Bliss first and i found it cool that it was written by the same author the wrote this one. Once i was finished with this book, i realized that this in fact goes somewhat with bliss. Yup, it has Sandy in it and goes along with what became of her. The only thing though, is it doesn't say what happend with Bliss or anyone else in the Bliss book...well except Sandy. Anyways, the story revolves around Jane and a group of popular girls called "The Bitches" and they want Jane to be their Fourth. Jane's best friend Alicia and her sister tell her about how the bitches are like witches and have some power over the whole school. Jane "thinks" it's fake. Just a story people made up. She joins the bitches but first has to steal something from anybody in school and then her initiation is complete. So she does and leaves it in Lurl the Pearl's desk which so happens to be on the floor where no one is allowed. She is totally confused about why she has to put it on Lurl's desk but she does it anyways and people automatically like her as soon as it is done. So she's happy because everyone likes her. But then she has to steal again and finds out that she has to do it every week in order for people to continue to like her. She didn't want to do it and she even tried to put a necklace that was hers on the desk but it didn't work. Then Camila, a girl who's immune somewhat to fawning over "the Bitches" gets messed around by one of "the bitches" and sucks away her popularity, however litle she has, every week by stealing something from her. After a party "the bitches" go to Camila's house, along with some other people, and try to go teach Camila a lesson. Not a good lesson. Jane gets in the middle of it and somehow gets into Camila's house and tells her what they were going to do. Then Jane spills it all to Camila. About why "the Bitches" are so popular and why she is always getting picked on and about the stealing her stuff. Jane wasn't supposed to tell anybody but she didn't care anymore. She knew "the Bitches" needed her as a fourth...or so she thought. Turns out Camila went and became the fourth taking Jane out. And little by little they were sucking away her popularity. The End. This book again...left me hanging. *sigh* But it was so good. Frightening like Bliss but so GOOD too! I just wish it wouldn't have left me hanging. Those "Bitches" needed to go D-O-W-N!! LOL...I suggest ya Read it!

L.A. Candy
ABOUT THE BOOK: Los Angeles is all about the sweet life: hot clubs, cute guys, designer . . everything. Nineteen-year-old Jane Roberts can't wait to start living it up. She may be in L.A. for an internship, but Jane plans to play as hard as she works, and has enlisted her BFF Scarlett to join in the fun.
When Jane and Scarlett are approached by a producer who wants them to be on his new series, a "reality version of Sex and the City," they can hardly believe their luck. Their own show? Yes, please!
Soon Jane is TV's hottest star. Fame brings more than she ever imagined possible for a girl from Santa Barbara—free designer clothes, the choicest tables at the most exclusive clubs, invites to Hollywood premieres—and she's lapping up the VIP treatment with her eclectic entourage of new pals. But those same friends who are always up for a wild night are also out for a piece of Jane's spotlight.
In a city filled with people chasing after their dreams, it's not long before Jane wakes up to the reality that everyone wants something from her, and nothing is what it seems to be.
L.A. Candy is a deliciously entertaining novel about what it's like to come of age in Hollywood while starring in a reality TV show, written by a girl who has experienced it all firsthand: Lauren Conrad.
* This should definitely be a good book to READ! If you like The Hills, then for sure you'll love Lauren's book! so go READ it! -Vee

VAMPS...

*I thought this book was...ok...well at first i thought it was ok. I could not get into it. The beginning was kind of boring. So i kept putting off reading it. Finally i sat down on my bed and opened up the book again. And YowZa!! I couldn't put it down. It was soo good! it's basically about kids in high school at a private high school except they are Vamps! There is a bunch of drama in it especially between the new girl Cally and of course the popular girl Lilith. Lilith is basically like a spoiled rich kid. Cally is the opposite of that. She basically got sent to Bathory Academy by her dad(who she has no clue who he is btw.) because of a fight she had with Lilith who turns out none other than her half-sister but she doesn't know it yet. Only Lilith does. So that was interesting to find out at the end. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. It should be interesting to see what happens when Cally finds out that Lilith is her sister. I also can't wait to find out what happens between Peter, the Van Helsing, and Cally. Go READ this book! It was Awesome.

Kate Voegele's Sophomore Album "A Fine Mess" is OUT TODAY! So GO BUY IT!
Description:You could say Kate Voegele is an overachiever. At 22 years old, the Cleveland, Ohio native has spent the better part of the last two years juggling life as a full-time singer-songwriter, part-time actress and a college student, rarely pausing to take a breath. "Multi-tasking has always been my thing," she says. "For my first album, I somehow scheduled my classes around recording sessions, and still got a 4.0 grade point average. Then I took a break from school and went on the road, but halfway through, I got offered One Tree Hill completely unexpectedly. That was when life got ridiculous."
Ridiculous in the sense that Voegele went from being a complete unknown to a TV star, and from a girl writing songs in her dorm room to a bonafide recording artist with legions of loyal fans, all in less than a year. Voegele is still pinching herself just to make sure it's really happening. "Sometimes I look around and wonder what I've done to deserve all this," she says with a laugh.
It was by virtue of her talent, vivacious personality and sheer determination that Voegele scored the tie-in of a lifetime: playing the spunky Mia on popular teen drama One Tree Hill, but performing her own music. Thanks to that confluence of events, her MySpace Records debut, Don't Look Away, sold close to a quarter million copies, climbed to No. 4 on the iTunes chart and sent Voegele upstream to Interscope (which has a distribution partnership with MySpace). Now Voegele is seeing her musical wish list come true with A Fine Mess, her second serving of undeniable pop-rock charm, produced by Mike Elizondo (Maroon 5, Fiona Apple) and scheduled for release in May 2009.
Brimming with optimism, first time independence and the wisdom that comes from one too many broken hearts, A Fine Mess is the continuation of a road Voegele was destined to travel, and, like every milestone in her career thus far, she navigates it with gusto. "It's easy to get caught up in trying to write hit songs when you're working on a second record," says Voegele. "But for me, it's about remembering why I started expressing myself through music in the first place -- how it came from a need to write and there was nothing mechanical about it. Those are the best songs, when I'm not thinking about it, which usually means that I write at really inconvenient times."
In Voegele's nomadic world, that means songs penned on airplanes and tour buses, cafés in Wilmington, North Carolina and hotel rooms in Los Angeles. "I got all this inspiration and a bunch of ideas from a year and a half on the road," she explains. "I've traveled to so many different places and had all these unexpected adventures with great people -- that's where this body of work comes from.
Case in point: "Manhattan From The Sky," a song which inspired the album's title. The piano-driven pure pop number, says Voegele, came to her from 30,000 feet above New York City. "I was just thinking about how Manhattan looks like a little piece of Lego," Voegele recalls, "but onc
e you' re inside, it's totally crazy and messy and there's a wonderful chaos going on all around the city." The song debuted on the March 23rd episode of One Tree Hill, in what Voegele calls, "the most amazing set-up ever." She explains: "The coolest thing is how they worked the song into the show so that it enhanced the scene, and how the scene enhanced the song. So the viewer can watch Mia and a character named Chase talk about what it's like to see a city from the sky one week, and the next week see Mia sing 'Manhattan From The Sky' in the studio, then they can go on iTunes and buy the song. It's great to be working with people who are so genuinely excited about the music."
Voegele had her pick of producers for A Fine Mess, but was fixated on one in particular. "I told the label that I'd love to work with whoever did Fiona Apple's Extraordinary Machine, and I'm also obsessed with Rilo Kiley's Under The Blacklight. Turns out, Mike Elizondo worked on both of those records. "To work with somebody who's able to execute what you're hearing in your head, it's not an easy thing to find," she says. "But when Mike was done, I was like, 'Oh my God, this is exactly what I had in mind when I wrote it on a napkin!'"
The album introduces itself with "99 Times," a gritty, hard-driving song that sees Voegele lashing out at the common frienemy. "It's about the different emotions you experience after finding out somebody you're close to has been feeding you a story that isn't true," she says. "You end up feeling stupid and pissed off and I guess I dealt with those emotions by putting on some black boots, messing up my hair, turning up the distortion on my guitar and getting in front of the mic to pretend I was Chrissy Hynde. That was pretty much all it took."
On the sweeping "Sweet Silver Lining," she sings of finding hope in times of grave misfortune. "Once I got out into the world, I saw that bad things happen to really good people -- people who were close to me," she explains of the track and its delicate clockwork rhythm. "I wrote it for myself, but hope it will inspire others." Voegele's attempt at a love song is the ballad "Forever and Almost Always," which she says matter-of-factly, is "one of most depressing songs on the record. It's about being in a relationship with somebody where you know their heart's not in it as much as yours, and how you're fed this story your whole life about everyone living happily ever after, but there's always that little bit of doubt. It's like that scene in the Sex And The City movie, where Carrie tells Charlotte's little girl, 'You know this is just a fairytale, right?' Its true!"

But don't worry, Voegele hasn't completely abandoned her good-natured side or her optimism. She's simply come to terms with the fine mess her world has turned into. "I could come up with a million reasons why that's an appropriate title," she says, "but really, it's just about how unpredictable life can be. It's a total rollercoaster that's out of your control and you have to be able to embrace the crazy ups and downs. That's your only option, pretty much, so you might as well enjoy it."

Evermore...

*Seventeen-year-old Ever survived the car crash that killed her parents, younger sister, and their dog. Now she lives with an aunt in Southern California, plagued not only by survivor guilt but also by a new ability to hear the thoughts of all around her. She tries to tune out all these distractions by keeping her hoodie up and her iPod cranked loud, until Damen, the cute new boy at school, convinces her to come out of her shell. Damen, however, is frighteningly clever—and has the strange ability to produce tulips from nowhere and disappear himself at critical moments. *Yup so First i thought Damen was a Vampire...been then he says he's not that he's an IMMORTAL..so i got kinda confused! but it's all good. the book itself was AWESOME! OH and EVER is an Immortal too because Damen changed her that day in the car crash. He saved her. (Awe... *tear*) Yup..so this book is kind of like Twilight but not really..so if you like Twilight then you will definitely like EVERMORE. It was interesting reading how Ever had the power to hear people's thoughts & how cool it would be to have that power & Alyson Noel wrote very well on how having that power was sometimes not really cool at all. So yeah..can't wait until the next book in the series BLUE MOON! -Vanessa Ann

Supernatural
Recap:St. Mary's Convent, Ilchester, Maryland, 1972 A demonic black cloud enters a priest. Later, he leads a service for the nuns and starts rambling. He then locks the doors and talks of looking for his "father," and finally discovering a way to free him. The priest explains that the key to his father's cage is at the convent and reminds them that his father was once an angel. His eyes turn yellow and he grabs a blade. The Present Sam and Ruby prepare to leave. She wonders if he's okay and insists that Dean was wrong. Sam doesn't blame Dean and wonders if there'll be an "after" for him to patch things with his brother. He tells Ruby that it's time to go. At Bobby's place, Dean refuses to call Sam and Bobby tells him he needs to reach out to Sam. Dean notes it didn't go well the first time and Bobby tells him to try it again. Dean refuses, insisting Sam ran off just like he did when he went to college. Bobby snaps at him and tells Dean he sounds like a whiny brat, or worse, his dad. He accuses John of being a coward for pushing Sam away rather than reaching out to him. Bobby says Dean is a better man than John ever was and tells him not to be like John. Dean turns away for a moment, and then finds himself transported to a luxurious mansion. Castiel is there and tells him it's almost time. At a hospital, Lilith's demon chef is taking a baby out of the maternity ward. Suddenly Sam and Ruby arrive and Sam uses his power to slam her against a wall. He says they need to talk. Dean finds a banquet table filled with hamburgers and beer. Zachariah appears with Castiel an
d explains they're keeping Dean safe and offers him whatever he wants. Dean wants answers and Zachariah explains all but one seal have broken. He notes Dean is the one who started it, and Lilith will open the last seal at midnight. When Dean demands more answers, Zachariah reminds him that he swore an oath of obedience and tells him to obey. Sam tortures the demon, holding her immobile without a demon's trap. She insists she isn't scared but Sam doesn't believe it. The demon wonders what she'll get out of it but Sam tells her to worry about what happens before she dies and proceeds to torture her. As Dean waits, he finally decides to call Sam on his cell phone. He gets his brother's voice mail and leaves an apology. The demon finally agrees to tell them where Lilith is and explains she'll be at a convent in Maryland. She doesn't know what the final seal is and begs for death. Ruby says they need the demon to provide more blood for Sam. In response, the demon goes down into its host body's subconscious. The nurse, Cindy McClellan, begs them for help. St. Mary's Convent, Ilchester, Maryland, 1972 The demon-possessed priest looks at the chapel filled with slaughtered nuns and then prays to his father, Lucifer, to whisper through the door. The candles flicker out and Lucifer speaks through a dead nun. He praises the demon and tells him to find Lilith, the only one who can break the seals. Lucifer tells the yellow-eyed demon, Azazel, to find a special child. The Present Sam confirms that a priest at the convent went berserk, disemboweled eight nuns, and claimed he was possessed by a demon. He's reluctant to kill the demon now that the human host is dominant, but Ruby warns that it's a trick. Sam takes Cindy outside and puts her in the demon trap in the trunk of his car. Castiel comes to see Dean, who wants to be taken to see Sam. Castiel warns against it but Dean insists. The angel warns him of what happened the last time they met and refuses to take Dean to Sam. When Dean insists on going for a walk, Castiel insists on going with him. When Dean refuses, Castiel makes the door disappear and then vanishes himself. As they drive, Cindy continues to scream. Sam checks his voice mail and sees Dean has left him a message but doesn't listen to it. Ruby insists that it's worth the sacrifice of one woman to save the world. Sam wonders if Dean was right but Ruby asks if he plans to see it through. He considers the matter. Dean tries to hammer through the wall only to discover that it reseals itself. Zachariah appears and Dean wonders why they're keeping him safe now. He demands to see Sam but Zachariah refuses. Dean demands answers and Zachariah finally admits that Lilith is going to open the final seal: there's nothing they can do. Dean realizes Zachariah never wanted to stop the Apocalypse, and lied to the other angels on the ground. The forces of Heaven figure they'll win and it'll be paradise on Earth. A few million people will die, but it's happened before. Dean asks about Sam and Zachariah says Sam has a part to play but will need a little nudging in the right direction. The angel admits that Dean is chosen and his role is to stop Lucifer and receive a vast reward. Dean asks where God is and Zachariah says that "God has left the building," and then disappears. A security guard pa
trols the convent. Lilith appears to him and says she's there for Mass, and then has her demons grab him. Dean calls Sam again without success, and Castiel appears to tell him it's impossible. Dean asks what they have planned for Sam and Castiel says Sam is going to do it to himself. When Castiel refuses to answer, Dean wonders why he's there and the angel apologizes for it ending like this. Dean punches him but only hurts his hand. He insists that God isn't involved and his superiors are invoking God's name to keep him line. Castiel says he sees nothing but pain, anger, guilt, and confusion. With Armageddon, they'll all be at peace. Dean begs him for help, asking to be taken to Dean and reminding him that he tried to help Dean once before. Castiel warns that they'll all be hunted and Dean tells him they're done. He turns away… and Castiel disappears. Sam and Ruby approach the convent and Ruby asks if they're doing it. Sam wants a minute to think. He listens to Dean's message and hears Dean accusing him of being a monster and a vampire. Sam tells ruby to do it and she goes back, opens the trunk, and Cindy starts to scream. Castiel appears in the room, shoves Dean up against the wall, covers his mouth, then cuts his own arm with a knife. He then draws a symbol on the wall in his own
blood. Zachariah arrives and demands answers, but the completed symbol flashes white, sending Zachariah away. Castiel warns he won't be gone long and they have to find Sam. However, he knows who does. He warns that Lilith is the final seal, and if she dies then the Apocalypse begins. Writer Chuck Shurley is at home calling an escort service after finishing his most recent story, "Lucifer Rising." Dean and Castiel appear and Chuck insists it isn't supposed to happen. Lilith's demons bring her the blood of the guard and she tells them they're going to save the world. When she turns back, she discovers that Sam has killed them all. She seals the door before he can get in. Chuck reveals that Dean and Castiel aren't supposed to be at St. Mary's, according to his visions. White light flares and the room vibrates. Castiel tells Dean he'll hold off the Archangel and the others and sends Dean to the convent to stop Sam. Chuck puts his arm (briefly) on Castiel's shoulder as they face the powers of Heaven together. Sam breaks into the convent and slams Lilith against the altar. Dean arrives down the hallway but Ruby sees him, smiles, and seals the doors. Sam moves in for the kill and begins to destroy her. However, he hears Dean call out to him and turns. Ruby tells him to finish Lilith, while Lilith laughs at him for becoming a freak that can't bring himself to do the job. Sam uses his powers again, his eyes turning black, and kills her. As Ruby and Sam look on, Lilith's blood oozes from her body to form the beginning of a portal. Ruby explains that Sam opened the door and Lucifer is free at last. She boasts of how she deceived them all. Sam tries to use his powers against her but he's used everything up against Lilith. Ruby explains that it was Sam who made the choices and that it's a miracle. She assures Sam that Lucifer will pay him in ways he can't even imagine. Dean comes in with the knife and Ruby tells him it's too late. Sam grabs her and Dean delivers the final blow. The portal starts to open and Sam says he's coming as everything glows white…
