The Lucas and Peyton wedding has arrived and in true Tree Hill fashion, there are a few bumps along the way. Peyton and Brooke share a tearful moment as the bride-to-be asks her best friend to take care of Lucas if anything happens to her. Brooke immediately breaks down.
"Are you scared?" she asks.
"I'm scared I'm gonna miss it all," Peyton says.
But soon Brooke's tears of sadness turn into a tears of rage when Lucas tells her that he's invited someone for her. When Julian rounds the corner, there's awkwardness that only gets worse when his date shows up seconds later...and it's Missy, the actress who played Brooke in the movie. Ouch.
After Peyton radiantly walks down the aisle, Haley begins the ceremony. She starts off strong, until a joke that bombs sends her into a stutter of Poison lyrics. But she quickly gets back on her feet with the tale of how after Lucas crushed on Peyton for years, she finally became his angel. And a decade after he wrote down his dream on a piece of paper, Peyton Sawyer became Peyton Scott.
As previewed, there was a classic showdown between Julian and Nick Lachey, who Brooke grabbed out of the recording studio to have as her date. Talk about sweet revenge. The dialogue that followed couldn't have been funnier to a teeny bopper like myself: "She's so not making me jealous with the guy from Dancing with the Stars," Julian said to Missy, who corrected him that that was Drew. "Whatever, Laguna Beach," Julian retorted. "No, that was some other tool," Chase (played by Laguna Beach star Stephen Colletti) chimed in. The claws really come out at the wedding, though, when the two couples are seated at the same table and Julian proceeded to make boy-band jokes. "Is it hot in here? Yeah, it must be crazy hot in here, like 98 degrees." Get it? Was anyone else laughing, too? The date competition continues as Brooke dances with Nick, and Julian dances with Missy. The dancing soon leads to kissing, but it's no secret what Brooke and Julian are up to. Nick tells Brooke she's made Julian jealous enough and he's clearly into her. Then Julian appears and tells Brooke that Missy left after he called her Brooke accidentally. The two dance and just when they start to reconnect, Brooke says, "I can't do this anymore," and walks away. Later, back at home, Nathan is still bummed that he didn't make it to the NBA, while his shooting guard protégé did. "I skipped practice to be here today...I'm getting tired of missing everything." Will Nathan give up on his dream for good? Julian goes to Brooke's stores in hopes of finding her, but her mother Victoria is the only one around. He asks her to tell Brooke to call him but she responds the only way she know how: rudely. "You do realize the name of the company is Clothes Over Bros?" Julian then tells Victoria that because of her, Brooke feels like she's not good enough, just as Julian has felt from his own dad. He admits that he's in love with her and that she's either going to learn to be nice to Brooke or she won't be in her life.
Meanwhile, back with the newlyweds, Lucas walks his bride into the house while covering her eyes. When she opens them, a beautiful scene of candles and rose petals is before her. "What a perfect day," Peyton says. As if we couldn't predict what was about to happen, Lucas tells her he has one last surprise; the Comet's restoration. "I love you, Peyton Scott," Lucas says as he turns the corner. But as he uncovers the car, the love of his life begins to bleed. By the time he returns, Peyton is on the ground. Will she and their baby survive? All will (hopefully) be revealed in next week's season finale! Can't Wait!
